St Mary's Church, Edwinstowe
Legend has it that Robin Hood and Maid Marian were married at the door of St Mary’s, deep in Sherwood Forest, and the church still trades happily on the story. Its broach spire was raised on the older Norman tower around 1400 and stands about 46 metres. The village of Edwinstowe is the usual base for the short walk out to the Major Oak close by. Open and free.
