Hales Castle preserves the earthworks of a former ringwork castle in Somerset. It is the only ringwork castle the Albion Guide maps in the county. The surrounding countryside is part of Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs National Landscape.
For more of the same, Woodhouse Castle and Nunney Castle are close by. The nearest railway station is Frome, 3.6 km to the north.
