Triple limestone peaks over a serpentine estuary.
Three Cliffs Bay takes its name from the trio of limestone crags at its mouth, arched by a natural rock window. A stream winds across the sand through a salt marsh, crossed by stepping stones, and Pennard Castle looks down from the dunes above. It’s one of the finest beaches on the Gower and has no direct road — walk in from Penmaen, Pennard or Southgate, twenty minutes or so over sand and dune. Both the stream and the tide can catch people out.
