You can drive straight onto Black Rock Sands: it’s one of the few Welsh beaches that lets cars out onto the flat, hard sand, backed by dunes near Porthmadog. Wide and open at low water, with caves to explore in the headland at the western end. Criccieth station is about 4km to the west.
