Criccieth stretches along Cardigan Bay beneath a ruined castle set on a green headland, which splits the front into two beaches of sand and shingle. It’s a quiet resort town, once the home of Lloyd George, who grew up nearby. The station is a few minutes’ walk back from the seafront.
