The castle headland splits Criccieth’s seafront in two, sand and shingle either side, with the ruined castle on its green mound above. The eastern beach is the quieter of the pair; the western one runs along the promenade towards the town. Both are good for a bracing walk and a rummage in the rock pools. Criccieth station is a few minutes back from the front.
