Halnaker Windmill is a squat brick tower mill on the Downs above Chichester, thought to date from the 1740s and restored from a ruin in 1934. Hilaire Belloc wrote a well-known poem, ‘Ha’nacker Mill’, while it stood derelict. The walk up passes through the beech ‘tree tunnel’ holloway the spot is known for. Exterior only, reached on foot from the A285. Barnham station is about 7km to the south-east.
