Denmans is a 20th-century gravel and dry garden at Fontwell, with curving beds and a serpentine dry stream bed that stands in for water. Joyce Robinson began it in the 1970s, and the designer John Brookes later lived and gardened here for decades. It’s an RHS partner garden with a cafe and plant centre, open most of the year for paid entry. Barnham station is about 3km to the south-east.
