Roughting Linn is a secluded curtain of water near Ford, tucked in a wooded dell that most people drive straight past. Just up the lane sits one of the largest prehistoric rock-art outcrops in Northumberland, its sandstone covered in Bronze Age cup-and-ring marks — the two make a fine pairing on one short visit. Access is open, but the path down to the fall is narrow and can be boggy after rain. Berwick-upon-Tweed station is about 17km to the north.
