Lady Waterford Hall was built as the village school for Ford, and over some 20 years Louisa, Marchioness of Waterford, covered its walls with huge watercolour murals of biblical scenes — using her own estate tenants and their children as the models. It still serves as the village hall and opens to visitors seasonally for a small charge. The church of St Michael stands next door.
