Sheltered harbour village on a drowned valley.
Solva shelters at the head of a narrow, steep-sided tidal inlet on the St Brides Bay coast, one of the safest natural harbours in the area, where boats settle on the mud at low tide. Colour-washed cottages line the Lower Solva quay, with galleries, craft shops and a couple of pubs. The coast path climbs the headlands on either side. It’s about 5km east of St Davids on the road to Haverfordwest.
