Local carpenter and surfer Greg Rødland Buick is behind Whitesands Sauna, set up by the beach at Whitesands Bay near St Davids. The idea came from his father, Wyn, a cold-water swimmer living with Parkinson’s who found it hard to warm up after a dip. The sea is right there for cooling off, and the sauna runs all year. Every St Davids resident is offered one free session.
