Rockcliffe is a small Solway resort on the Colvend coast, at the heart of a National Scenic Area with a rocky bay and fine coastal walking. At low tide a natural causeway leads out to Rough Island, a low grassy bird sanctuary in the estuary — best left alone through the late-spring nesting season. A shore path runs round to Kippford.
