Palnackie is a tiny tidal port on the Urr estuary, and its odd claim to fame is the World Flounder Tramping Championship, where competitors wade the mudflats to catch flatfish underfoot. The little harbour still fills and empties with the tide. It’s a quiet detour off the Solway coast road, near neighbouring Kippford on the same estuary.
