Kippford strings along the Urr estuary on the Colvend coast, a former shipbuilding village now given over to sailing — the channel fills with yachts and dinghies through the season. There’s a cosy waterfront pub, and a coastal path round the headland to Rockcliffe. A salty little stop on the Solway coast.
