Mungrisdale is a small huddle of farms under the eastern flank of the Skiddaw fells, at the foot of the shapely little peak of Souther Fell. There’s a tiny whitewashed church, St Kentigern’s, down by the beck, and the Mill Inn close at hand. It’s a quiet starting point for the round of Bowscale and Bannerdale Crags.
