Lymington is a Georgian sailing town at the New Forest’s southern edge, its cobbled Quay Hill dropping to a river crowded with yachts. Salt was made from the marshes here for centuries, and a car ferry still crosses to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. There’s a big Saturday street market. Lymington Town station is a few minutes’ walk from the quay.
