Milford on Sea is a small seaside village at the western end of the Solent, with a green set back from a shingle beach that looks across to the Needles and the Isle of Wight. From here the long bank of Hurst Spit runs out to Hurst Castle, one of Henry VIII’s coastal forts, reachable on foot or by seasonal ferry. Lymington Town station is about 5km to the north-east.
