Long Melford runs the best part of two miles along one street, widening at the north end into a green with a great house at either side — Melford Hall, now National Trust, and Tudor Kentwell Hall. Above the green rises Holy Trinity, a light-filled wool church with a rare survival of medieval stained glass. Sudbury station is about 4km south.
