A wool church on the scale of a small cathedral, financed by the merchant John Clopton of Kentwell Hall and built in the 1480s and 90s at the top of Long Melford. It’s known for one of England’s finest collections of medieval stained glass, and for a separate Lady Chapel beyond the east end — a rarity in a parish church. Open access.
