A single street of colour-washed and timber-framed cottages drops down one hillside and climbs the next at Kersey, splashing through a watersplash ford across the stream at the bottom. The flint church of St Mary closes the top of the street. It’s a much-photographed scene, and a good deal quieter than nearby Lavenham.
