Holmfirth is a huddle of terraces climbing the Holme Valley hillsides, best known as the location for Last of the Summer Wine — Sid’s Café and Nora Batty’s steps still pull in fans of the show. Beyond the TV connection there’s a good scattering of pubs and cafes and walking straight out onto the moors. Brockholes is the nearest station, about 3km to the north.
