Grange-in-Borrowdale is a cluster of cottages reached by a handsome double-arched bridge over the River Derwent, at the narrow gap known as the Jaws of Borrowdale. It’s a popular starting point for walks up to Castle Crag and along the river, and the huge Bowder Stone is a short way up the valley towards Rosthwaite.
