The Wainwright is a small, much-liked pub at the pedestrianised end of Keswick, named for the fellwalking author Alfred Wainwright. It’s a repeat winner of walkers’ pub-of-the-year awards, with a good range of Lakeland ales and a warm welcome for muddy boots. A cheerful place to toast a day on Catbells or Skiddaw.
