The Dog and Gun is a characterful old pub in the middle of Keswick, low-beamed and usually busy, pouring Keswick Brewing Company ales. It’s best known for its homemade Hungarian goulash, a warming plate after a day on the fells. Unfussy, and all the better for it — a firm favourite with walkers coming off Skiddaw or Catbells.
