Cawthorne is a pretty conservation village near Barnsley, on the edge of Cannon Hall’s parkland — a Georgian house with walled gardens, a museum, and the popular Cannon Hall Farm next door. The village itself has a quirky little museum and a couple of tearooms. Darton is the nearest station, about 3km to the north-east.
