Bothwell is a well-to-do village on the Clyde, best known for the roofless red-sandstone Bothwell Castle a short walk down towards the river. The medieval St Bride’s church keeps a 14th-century collegiate choir at the heart of its later Georgian body. Blantyre station is barely more than a kilometre away to the south-west.
