Strathclyde Country Park spreads around a large man-made loch between Motherwell and Hamilton, with rowing and watersports on the water, miles of walking and cycling paths, the remains of a Roman bathhouse, and M&D’s, Scotland’s biggest theme park, on its edge. Free to enter the park itself; Motherwell station is about 2km to the east.
