Bo’ness — short for Borrowstounness — is a terraced town rising from the shore of the Firth of Forth. It’s home to the Bo’ness & Kinneil heritage railway and the Hippodrome, reckoned to be Scotland’s oldest surviving purpose-built cinema, with foreshore walks looking out across the water. Linlithgow is the nearest mainline station, about 4.5km to the south.
