A yew reckoned at around a thousand years old stands in the churchyard beside St George’s Church, on the western slopes of the Quantocks. The thatched village gathers below, a good starting point for walks up onto the open hill. Bishop’s Lydeard station, on the West Somerset Railway, is about 12km to the south-east.
