Rob Roy MacGregor is buried in the old kirkyard at Balquhidder, and his grave still draws visitors to this scattered Highland village at the foot of Loch Voil. It’s reached by a single-track road off the A84, ending in glen and hill country popular with walkers. The ruined old church stands beside the newer parish kirk, both worth a look before you head up the glen.
