Balquhidder’s kirk stands above Loch Voil, and its churchyard is where Rob Roy MacGregor is buried, alongside his wife and two of his sons under three flat stones — his marked with the defiant motto ‘MacGregor Despite Them’. The graves sit by the footings of the older medieval church. The present church is Victorian and opens to visitors in summer; the churchyard is open all year. Crianlarich is the nearest station, some way off to the west.
