The SS Sir Walter Scott is a steamship built in 1899 that still cruises Loch Katrine, sailing from Trossachs Pier down the loch to Stronachlachar through Rob Roy country. It’s a lovely, unhurried way to see the water, with the original steam engine still doing the work. Sailings run seasonally — the ship comes off for maintenance in the depths of winter — so book ahead.
