Killin stands at the head of Loch Tay, wrapped around the Falls of Dochart, where the river tumbles over rocky ledges beneath the old stone bridge in the middle of the village — a gorgeous spot, and busy with photographers in spate. The hills of Breadalbane rise all around, and it makes a good base for climbing Ben Lawers to the north-east.
