A cluster of whitewashed houses beside the Afon Ffraw, Aberffraw was the chief seat of the kings of Gwynedd, who ruled from here for centuries. Nothing of the court survives — it was pulled down in 1317 for stone to build Caernarfon Castle. A footbridge and lane lead down to the wide dunes and sands of Aberffraw bay. Bodorgan station is about 3km to the north-east.
