Nose’s Point is a headland just south of Seaham looking down over Blast Beach, a stretch of sand once buried black under waste from the Dawdon colliery and now slowly greening back to life. The cliffs are a good spot for a bracing walk, with the Durham Coast Path running along the top. It’s open access and free. Seaham station is a little over 2km away, and The Tommy sculpture on the seafront makes an easy add-on.
