The most westerly point on Skye, Neist Point ends in a lighthouse first lit in 1909, reached by a steep concrete path that switchbacks down the headland. The cliffs make a fine place to watch for whales, dolphins and basking sharks passing offshore. The path is hard work on the way back up, and the cliff edges are unfenced, so take care near them. It’s a long drive out west from anywhere else on Skye.
