Fleam Dyke
Local highlightApproximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
A second great Anglo-Saxon bank, Fleam Dyke crosses the chalk near Fulbourn, running as a raised green ridge above the surrounding farmland. The turf is old chalk grassland, good for cowslips and orchids in early summer, and a path follows the crest. It’s the quieter companion to Devil’s Dyke a few miles north-east. Shelford station is about 7km west.
