The Breamish Valley opens broad and green as it runs up from Ingram into the Cheviots, its riverside haughs grazed by sheep and the surrounding hills studded with Iron Age forts. It’s a fine spot for a riverside picnic and gentle walks, with steeper climbs onto the tops for those who want them. Parking fills fast on sunny weekends, so come early.
