St Michael's Church, Ingram
Heading into the Cheviots up the Breamish Valley, you pass St Michael’s at Ingram, a low, ancient church that has stood at the valley mouth for the best part of a thousand years. Much of it is medieval on older foundations. There’s a visitor point nearby for the hills, and the church makes a natural marker at the start of a walk. Come by car — the nearest station is a long way off.
