Linhope Spout is Northumberland’s signature waterfall, a single chute of water dropping into a deep plunge pool set deep in the Breamish Valley. Getting there is a walk of a mile or so from the hamlet of Linhope, itself at the end of a long single-track road up from Ingram — remote enough that you may well have the place to yourself. The pool draws the brave for a bracing dip. Chathill station is a fair drive away, about 25km to the north-east.
