Davidson’s Linn is a cascade hidden high in the Cheviots, and the getting there is really the point — a long moorland walk in from Alwinton over open-access hills, boggy in stretches and easy to misjudge in poor visibility. It’s the reward at the far end of a full hill day rather than a quick pull-off. Carry a map and compass, and don’t count on a phone signal. The nearest station, Chathill, is a good 30km away over on the coast.
