Four wood-fired saunas, an ice bath and plunge pools on the shingle by Brighton's Banjo Groyne, with the sea steps away

Beach Box Spa sits on the beach at the Banjo Groyne, the banjo-shaped breakwater on Madeira Drive east of Brighton Palace Pier. There are four wood-fired saunas, from Leil, a six-person converted horsebox, to Lotta, a nine-person cedar sauna with panoramic windows, plus a two-person sauna kept for private hire. For cooling off there’s an ice bath, a chilled plunge pool, cold showers and the sea. Liz Watson set it up.
