A Roman town once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Gloucestershire. It is one of two Roman towns the Albion Guide maps in the county. The surrounding countryside is part of the Cotswolds National Landscape. For arrivals by rail, Cam & Dursley Station is 8 km to the north-west.
