Newport Wetlands is an RSPB reserve on the Severn estuary at Nash, a mix of reedbed, saltmarsh and lagoons. Hides and paths lead out to a squat lighthouse on the shore, with waders and winter wildfowl the main draw. The reserve is open and free; the car park is charged. Newport station lies about 6km to the north-west.
