A remote hillside hotel bar at Whitebridge, up on the old military road that General Wade drove through the hills above the south side of Loch Ness. It’s long been a fishing and touring stop in quiet Stratherrick, with the loch-studded moors on the doorstep and Wade’s original bridge nearby. Bring the car — this is deep in the hills, well off the railway.
