Set in a converted mill at Ings, the Watermill brews its own beer - including the well-known Windermere Blonde - and pours up to a dozen cask ales with cheerfully daft pump names. It’s a repeat Good Pub Guide favourite and thoroughly dog-friendly. Food is served, and it’s an easy stop just off the A591. Staveley, the next village along, has the nearest station.
