The Sun Inn is the village pub at Bassenthwaite, a low whitewashed local set a little back from the lake of the same name. It’s a handy base for the northern fells and the osprey viewpoints, and within reach of lonely St Bega’s church down by the water. A friendly stop for a pint after Skiddaw or Ullock Pike.
