Known to everyone as the Low House, the thatched King’s Head at Laxfield is one of a handful of pubs left in Britain with no bar counter — ale is drawn straight from casks in a back tap room and carried through. The building is 16th-century, with settles round the fire and a garden behind. Adnams and guest beers, served on gravity.
