Said to be one of York’s most haunted pubs, the Golden Fleece leans and creaks like the old coaching inn it is, directly opposite the Shambles. Ghost stories aside, it’s a characterful spot for a pint or a plate of food, with rooms upstairs for the brave. York Station is about a kilometre away to the west.
